Mary Sue passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Los Angeles, moving to Woodland Hills for her high school Freshman year. She met Ray on her first day at Pierce College and they were married a year later. Mary Sue's greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She loved gardening and traveling. Mary Sue and Ray had far far too many adventures over the years to list, both in the US and abroad.
Ray and Mary Sue loved antiques and had many trips over the years with their children while pulling a U-Haul trailer across the country buying treasures both to keep and to sell at her antique stores. She was always the driver for all of her friends as they went on adventures far and wide, going to lunch with her friends, the beach, doing art projects, dancing, long walks, and the occasional vodka tonic.
Mary Sue leaves behind her husband Ray of 54 years; daughter, Christie Steiner; sons, Tim and Brandon Seider; grandchildren, Carlie, Madeline, Jackson, Paulina, Quin and Melina; as well as great grandchildren, Aubrey and Gage. Mary Sue had a special place in her heart for her two daughters- in-law, Wenke Seider, and Nadine Seider, as well as too many wonderful friends to list.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Aegis Living where Mary Sue has lived the past 11 months and for their loving care. They are wonderful caring people. Also thank you for the peaceful help from Oakhurst Hospice this past week.
A celebration of her life will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Lions Park in Carpinteria, 6197 Casitas Pass Road.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
