

Mary Lou Yellin, 85, of Oxnard, died peacefully Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving children. Mary Lou was a valiant brave woman who was very aware during her last days.
She was born July 28, 1927 in Los Angeles, California, and had been a resident of Ventura County for the past 22 years. Mary Lou was known for her generous spirit and volunteer work in the community with Food Share, Oxnard CERT and the Oxnard Library.
She was married to Saul Yellin for 52 years before his passing in 2002.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Allan Rosenthal of Westlake Village and her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jennie Yellin of Poway; grandchildren Lisa and Kimi Rosenthal and Jeffrey and Anna Yellin. She is also survived by her sister Esther Cooperman and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, December 21, 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, with burial following. Rabbi Michael Lotker will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Food Share of Ventura County and to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
