Michael Anthony Calderon

He was born in Ventura on September 2, 1983, to Lila and Larry Calderon. Michael loved the outdoors, camping and hiking at his favorite of places, Yosemite. He enjoyed target shooting and was an avid collector of knives. Playing video games was a favorite pass time. Michael was a happy and friendly child, never too shy to talk with the neighbor next door and was always ready to greet you with his big smile. One of his favorite things and biggest joys was spending time with his nieces. He loved them dearly and was always so happy when he was able to spend time with them.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife Kate, together as sweethearts since attending Buena High School; his mother, Lila and father, Larry; sister, Melissa Bentz (husband Chris); nieces, Nyomi and Lia; grandparents, Eloy and Julia Najera; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011, 2:00 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
