

Norm was born on July 27, 1927 in Los Angeles, CA to Mary Alice and Raymond Marvin Stockton, and was raised in the Los Angeles area. He graduated from high school in 1945 and immediately enlisted in the US Navy, where he served in the South Pacific.
After discharge from the Navy in 1946, Norm worked with his father and brothers in the construction field. During his off hours, he obtained his pilots license and loved to take to the air, flying the skies from Los Angeles to the mid-west and back.
In 1949, he met the love of his life, Mary Ellen Moran, whom he married in 1950 in Van Nuys, CA.
Norm spent the majority of his working career (27 years) as an Engineer for the City of Burbank Fire Dept. After retiring from the Fire Dept. in 1982, Norm and Mary moved to their home in Cambria where they spent many wonderful years enjoying the ocean and coastal life. Norm was also an avid golfer who enjoyed a good game and the fellowship of his golfing buddies. He loved the Lord, his family and was a true American patriot.
Norm is survived by his wife of 61 years as well as his six children, Kathleen, Bend, OR; Laurie (Ric), Sherwood, OR; Norm (Kathy), Burbank, CA; Ray (Eileen), Canoga Park, CA; John (Geri), Carpinteria, CA; Mary (Rob), Ventura, CA; 13 grandchildren, Jenelle, Jessica, Emily, Bryan, Jon, Kevin, Matt, Jacob, John Thomas, Chelsea, Heather, Andrew, and Wesley; 6 great-grandchildren, Luke, Ella, Audrey, Carter, Gunnar and Carys; a brother Wayne, Morro Bay, CA; sister-in-law Helen, Santa Clarita, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, 11:30 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Cambria following burial at the Cambria Cemetery.
