Patricia Juanita King
February 19, 1923 – April 5, 2018
Patricia Juanita King, 95, passed away April 5, 2018, in Ventura, California. She was born on February 19, 1923, in Denver, Colorado, to Arthur and Frances King.
Patricia graduated from Monroe City High School in 1941, and was part of the band there. She graduated from Kirksville State Teachers College in 1944. Patricia obtained a Masters degree in Library Science from Denver University Library School in 1955. She was a librarian at E.P. Foster Library from 1959-1967, and enjoyed reading stories to the children there.
Patricia was a member of Grace Baptist Church from 1959 until her peaceful passing. She sang faithfully in the choir for many years, and also taught Sunday school classes. Patricia enjoyed volunteering in the Community Memorial Hospital auxiliary, and received a 1,000 hour pin for her years of service. She also enjoyed being a part of the garden club and being “mom” to her beloved cats, but only one at a time. Her longtime neighbors the Hookes, loved Patricia and their children regarded her as another grandmother. Her friends at Grace Church will miss her as will her sweet caregiver, Debbie D. and Joey Cat.
Patricia said that Grace church was her family and that after years of ups and downs that happen in any church “Grace church is His church, and we are His People, and His Will is the only one that matters.”
Patricia’s memorial service will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., at Grace Church, 65 South MacMillan St., Ventura, CA, with the Reverend Nick Acker officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
