Reese, 89, the only son of Charles & Mildred Stuart, passed into the presence of Jesus on February 11, 2015. A long time county resident, he gave of himself to his country, friends, and family. Reese served his country honorably in WWII as a member of the Calvary, then as a MP on the China-India trail. He returned to his home to pursue and marry his sweetheart, Marie. With her, Reese has two surviving children, Stephen Stuart and Sharon Barringer, and their families: Stephen’s wife, Shauna, their children (Kendra (Jerry) Reichardt & Hannah Stuart) and great-grandchildren (Karis & Grant Reichardt). Sharon’s husband, Frank Barringer and grandson, Daniel. After Marie’s death, Reese married a family friend, Nelda (Beem). He is survived by his step-family: David Beem, Larry (Cynda) Beem, Kenny (Annie) Beem, and Cindy (Bob) Rynearson. Reese touched the lives of many. He was involved in Montalvo Boy Scouts, Lions’ Club (past president), Montalvo Improvement District, Deacon at Ventura Missionary Church, Bible study leader, and sang with the “Silvertones.” Reese worked for Ventura Unified School District as a carpenter, supervisor, and Director of Maintenance and Operations for a total of 32 years. He was dedicated, kind, and full of laughter. In retirement, he liked traveling in his RV, especially on fishing trips. Some fond memories of Reese were his woodworking crafts: the grandfather clock, the rocking horse, the playhouse, the preachers’ pulpits, he was blessed as a master carpenter. He loved life, his family and his Lord. His favorite Biblical hymn sums up his undeniable faith, “Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine…”
