On Thursday, December 27, 2018, Dick peacefully passed away while surrounded in prayer. He was born on August 26, 1925, at home in Weeping Water, Nebraska. Dick served in the United States Navy during WWII, attended Biola University, and was employed by Gerber Products Inc from 1956-1989. Community Presbyterian Church was a big part of his life where he founded Pathfinders for young married couples. Dick also fed the homeless on a monthly basis for decades. A major source of recreation through the years has been golfing, biking, fishing, gardening, traveling and teaching bible classes. He will be remembered for his mercy, wisdom and grace. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Ginger of 73 years; children, Frances, Mark and Steven; grandchildren, Randy, Penny, Tip, Kelly, Kate, and John-Christian; and great grandchildren, Alexandria, Dylan, Ava, Luke, Jemma, and James. A celebration of Dick’s memorable life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at the Community Presbyterian Church, 1555 Poli St, Ventura, CA. I remember the summers that we’d go to the beach . Jumping the fence to put pennies on the railroad tracks. You’ll be missed for sure.
