

Robert “Bob” Buchanan was born Jan. 28, 1929 to Robert and Margaret Buchanan in Massillon, Ohio. He passed away peacefully, Nov. 11, 2013, he was 84. Raised in the small town of Dalton, Bob joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and was stationed in the Philippines. After his discharge, he enrolled at Georgia Tech University, but there were no girls there so he switched to Ohio State. After graduation and a stint at Chrysler in Detroit, Bob moved to Calif. to work at Aero Jet General. Not long after, he moved to Mtn. View, went to work for Lockheed making helicopters, and then the Polaris Missile. He moved back to Burbank for the famous SST. He was chosen to attend Stanford School of Business which led him to becoming his own boss as a licensed General Contractor. He retired in Ventura with his wife Peggy.
Bob now leaves behind, Peggy after 53 years of marriage; his son Alan (wife AJ); daughter Leslie; brother Jim and nephew Mario.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tues. Nov. 19th at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd. Ventura, CA 93003.
