Rolland Lee Fitzgerald

Rolland was born January 28, 1934 in Kearney, Nebraska & preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Lydia Fitzgerald and daughter Fredaline. As a young child they moved to Santa Paula ultimately establishing their home in Ojai in 1944, where he graduated from Nordhoff High School in 1952. After obtaining a Football scholarship from Nordhoff, he attended Pepperdine University , graduating with a degree in agriculture.

Rolland met and soon married his soulmate, Barbara Ann Wingate in Las Vegas at St. Ann's Catholic Church in 1955, moving on to share their adventurous life together.

Rolland's adult life was filled with an array of many talents and trades that included real estate investment, painting contractor, pilot, rancher, and business owner. He established Fuller Paint and Glass in the 60's, opening three locations in Santa Barbara, Oxnard and Ventura. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and remained dedicated to his professional life until he was fortunate enough to retire in his 50's and continue his life traveling with Barbara.

Rolland is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Barbara Ann of Ojai; brother Floyd Dee (Charlene) Fitzgerald, Ojai; son, Michael (Corinne) Fitzgerald, Ojai; daughter, Rhonda (Dwayne) Harris, Ojai. Grandchildren include Twyla (Chris) Marcrum of Arizona, Tim (Jackie) Fitzgerald of Arizona, Camille (Justin) Powell of Arizona; Bryan (Bianca) Fitzgerald, Colorado; Tyler Harris of London, England, and Megan Harris of Amsterdam, Fredalines husband Doug Vandegraft and daughter Dennise (Craig) Jones of Illinois. Rolland leaves behind many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing Sunday, April 30, 2017, 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with the Rosary beginning after at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Ojai. Mass will be held Monday, May 1, 2017, 10:00 A.M., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, with graveside services following at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. A reception will follow and would be announced afterward.
