Vicki Charrisa Gallo, 57, of Rocklin, California, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2013. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Burial will follow the funeral at Ivy Lawn Cemetery.
Vicki was born on November 12, 1955, in Pensacola, Florida. The family moved to Port Hueneme in 1967. She grew up in Port Hueneme where she met the love of her life, Raymond--the boy next door. They were married for 37 years and had two sons, Ray, Jr. and Marcus.
She was one of the first female letter carriers in the city of Oxnard. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years and received the Letter Carrier of the Year award.
The family moved to Rocklin in 1989, when Vicki and Raymond achieved their dream of becoming owner operators of a McDonald's franchise. She was the brains of the organization and made sure we set our goals high. She worked behind the scenes, but was "the straw that stirred the drink."
Vicki is survived by her husband, Ray Gallo, Sr.; sons, Ray Gallo, Jr. of Rocklin, and Marcus Gallo of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Ray Gallo, III & Savannah Gallo of Rocklin; her mother, Bobbie Bryant and her husband, James A. Bryant of Antelope, California; Vivien McLean of Pensacola, Florida; William McLean of Antelope; and James Bryant, Jr. of Rocklin.
Vicki was a wonderful and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a kind and giving spirit. Her generosity was absolutely limitless. She cared so much for others and touched so many lives. She will be missed by all.
Mama, your boys love and miss you. Thank you for all you have done for us. Your knowledge and wisdom will be carried on.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, California.
