Wally Annas passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. She was born in Ingolstadt, Germany on December 7, 1907, the daughter of Joseph and Walburga Heigl. Wally came to America in 1929, and lived in Los Angeles until 1964 when she moved to Port Hueneme. Wally married Jackson Annas in 1933 and shared 57 happy years together, until his death in 1989.
Wally is survived by her nephews, John (Donna) and Rudy (Noma) Heigl of California, and Fritz (Hilda) Immel of Germany.
She will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched deeply and who loved her, including Laurie Lemson, Tom, Pat, and Maureen Ford.
Gramma Wally’s advice and love will also be dearly missed by Dr. Sheila Ford (Fred).
Our hearts are heavy from the loss of her stalwart presence in our lives, but they are also filled with gratitude for having had her. Knowing and loving her has been a true blessing. Her wisdom has guided us. Her strength has inspired us. Her honesty and integrity have taught us how to live. Her sincerity and graciousness have shown us how to treat one another. And her love, her huge capacity for it and her emphasis on its importance, has been the most precious gift of all. Wally always said, “Nothing is more important than love.” Wally was the embodiment of that truth.
We are also grateful for the loving care given to Wally by the nurses of Cambridge at Victoria Care Center, most especially Anna Cabrera, “My Anna”, who understood Wally’s needs and always did her best to ensure they were met.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com.
