Warren moved with his family in 1943 from Massachusetts to Los Angeles California. It was here that he met and fell in love with Gertie. They were married at the Eleventh Street Swedish Baptist Church in Los Angeles. They raised three daughters Gloria, Penny and Alice in Downey, California. Warren and Gertie moved to Camarillo, California on Memorial Day of 1990 to take up residence with the Daryl Lundberg Family.
Warren and Gertie carried their Christian upbringing and values forward to raise their family. Their dedication and hard working ideologies carried them through the lean and prosperous years, teaching their three girls how God can carry you through.
Warren stayed very active, first and foremost in church ministry. He sang in the church choirs and stage productions, stayed busy leading bible studies, teaching Sunday school and being involve in many other ministries. He worked to stay in shape by doing carpentry, playing tennis and square dancing.
One of Warren’s spiritual gifts that God had given him was the gift of giving. Warren would talk with people and hear their needs and ask God how much do You want me to give them Lord, and then he would follow thru with it. He was not a wealthy man by monitorial means, but wealthy in the direction the Lord wanted to use what he had.
Warren was a quiet and patient man but if you ever wanted to hear a joke, or ask directions on how to do something, he was there for you. He liked one on one conversation’s the best since he was able to hear you better.
Warren was coherent until his last week at home on earth. There were many special conversations and memorable times that we as his family and friends had with him before God had his home in heaven ready.
Warren is survived by his three daughters, Gloria Lundberg, Penny Heflebower, and Alice Rebstad, 4 grandchildren, 3 granddaughter’s in-law, and 7 great-grandchildren. To all of them he has left behind a rich spiritual legacy. Pursuing a life with Jesus Christ as head of his life, Warren has equipped each one with examples of God’s continued faithfulness, love and laughter.
Warren changed his address to heaven on May 19, 2013.
He will truly be missed by many, but his heart was heaven bound.
His memorial service and celebration of his life with Christ will be at Camarillo Community Church, 1322 Las Posas Road, Camarillo, CA 93010, on June 22nd at 11 A.M with fellowship and lunch to follow.
