I know it’s a bit late but I felt I needed to say something about my uncle scottie,my uncle scottie was a great person,I loved him very much.Even though I didn’t get to see him much he always wished me,my parents and my family well,he always would pray for us to stay happy and healthy.He was a great,funny,amazing kind person.
It’s hard to see some people took advantage of that,my mom now tells me all the fun games they used to play in the car and at home and how he was always such a great role model,he really was.He showed to always have faith in what you believe in and to always no matter what treat everyone amazing even if they treated you poorly,he was a very forgiving person even if they didn’t say sorry.He was a great brother,I remember sometimes when he was at my grandparents house and I came for a visit he would throw the football with me,it’s a hard hard pill to swallow that he’s gone,but we have to many good memories to be sad.He will always be watching over us,my love goes to all of you who knew scottie. -Lizzy Paquette❤️

I often reminisce about Scott with others because he was a very close buddy of mine throughout high school and when he lived in New Market.  We lost touch over the last several years, but I casually searched online for his whereabouts from time to time and was unable to find him.  I often tell my husband “Scotty & me” stories and was just talking about him a couple of days ago.  Last night I had a dream that we were hanging out and it put me in such a good mood!  So, today I looked Scott up once more, but only to find his obituary.  Scotty, you never left my memories and I am heart-broken at your premature passing.  I’m sorry I wasn’t by your side.  The comments people left are exactly the way I remember you, especially all the discussions we had about the Bible when we were only teenagers!  I will always remember your quirky sense of humor, your adorable innocent smile and your gentle soul.  Rest in peace, Scotty, and know that you will continue to be in my heart.

It was so sad to hear that Scott had passed away after putting up a brave  fight !....We will always remember the first time we met Scott,  about 6 years old , proudly holding his big brother Johnny's hand.... we can still see him in the swimming pool , laughing and  joking with family and friends ......playing trivia games at xmas was a  favorite !...We send our love to Johnny and Susan, Davina,  Andrea , and Stephanie , and to his sister Lizzy ....Ronnie and Sandra xox

As Uncle Scottie was only a few years older than me, I had looked up to him. He was our really cool and funny uncle that wouldn’t hesitate to play with us or take us out. He was a big kid at heart. All of us sisters have great memories of visiting with him and spending our vacations together.

Family meant everything to him as did his good friends.  I echo Andrea’s appreciation to my parents, his sister Liz, Velvet and Don for being there for him until his last days. 

I’ll treasure our last conversation until we meet again, where there will be only happy tears. Love you always, Alex, Davina and Lizzy.

Dear uncle Scotty,
I can’t possibly accurately capture in writing what you’ve meant to me. What I remember fondly, is that when I was young, I looked up to you and was so excited every time I saw you. Life was better because I had an uncle like you. Thank you for teaching me athleticism, working out and keeping in shape. It’s because of you that I have weights and exercise machines in my basement. You made working out look fun! Thank you for teaching me how to throw a football and for teaching me about various sports. Namely our families favourite NFL team...the Steelers:) Above all, thank you for showing me your love for God, zest for life, your silliness and sense of humour. Thank you for showing me your love for music, because every time I would come over you would be listening to your records and singing with such passion and joy that it was contagious. You will be forever missed and I look forward to the day I see your face again. I love you always. I’d like to thank my wonderful parents, my Aunty Lizzy, as well as Velvet and Don, for staying by my uncle Scotty’s side unconditionally. You were the reason he kept smiling. You were his angels on earth. Xoxo 

Dear Uncle Scottie, my Godfather, I will always remember going to Newmarket every summer as a child and being so excited to see you. You nicknamed me the « mouse », Andrea was the « bird », and Davina was the « cat »!  Thank you for always making me laugh (like when  you would stuff food in your mouth just for our entertainment, or do voice impersonations) and for eating my vegetables when my mom wasn’t looking! I will always remember our football games in the backyard, our games of Risk (Ukraine is not weak!), electronic Stratego, or backgammon, mini putt, and trips to Canada’s Wonderland & karaoke at the Grey goat. I have so many fun memories of you. Thank you for always being there to listen. I know you loved me and also my husband and my children. We love you too Scottie!! Until I see you again,

My brother and I were very close, we had many outings together where we would go for breakfast or lunch and talk about different issues, then we would do his errands together as his health made it hard to walk at times.  He loved fiercely and was a kind soul, he often talked about his youth and friends because I think those were his happiest moments.  He was a Christian and proud of it,  and I have no doubt he is at peace in heaven.  My wife Susan and I spent many an hour with him in the hospital, he loved talking and holding hands with us, it know it comforted him.  We will miss his phone calls, his voice and his laugh.  We went for haircuts together about three days before he went to the hospital, while in the hospital he said,”  got my haircut just in time “ and smiled, I will always remember that smile, it warmed my soul.   See you another day my brother.  JK/SK.

Scottie enjoyed most of his life spending time with friends.  He enjoyed animals {especially his dog Bandit}, hockey, dancing, collecting sports cards, football, singing (especially La Bamba...and in Spanish), and acting silly.  He enjoyed having a good laugh and listening to music.  He had his sayings from inside jokes that only family or close friends would understand like......Inside! or Halloum! or Get Out Of Town! or What do you think I am a radio?

Due to a disability, his energy and interests in hobbies slowly diminished except for one thing.  His love for Jesus!  He loved speaking about it to anyone and everyone.  He knew his scripture fairly well and his faith never faltered when confronted with unbelievers. He was ready and willing to defend the gospel with enthusiasm.  He stood up for Jesus, and is standing with him now face to face.......something he was looking forward to in his last years.  And hopefully, he will receive the Crown of Righteousness which is for those who are anxiously awaiting Christ's return. 

Scott loved his nieces and nephew and will be missed.  Although he and I did not always agree on things, there was a part of us that connected and understood without explanation.  In his last month in the hospital when complications arose from surgery, he fought hard and brave!

I can picture Jesus greeting Scott with open arms and my Mom and Dad smiling nearby.  Then, I can see his faithful, loyal dog Bandit, wagging his tail as he walks the streets of heaven close beside Scottie.

Enjoy that Pain Free Peace, and I will see you again soon enough my baby brother -  Brenda
