

Art was predeceased by his wife, Pearl, in 2000; his daughter, Violet, in December 2011; and his son, Barry, in March 2012.
Art was born in Garrison, North Dakota on March 31, 1914 and moved to the Okanagan as a child. He worked at many jobs over the years, but his expertise was as a mechanic in Salmon Arm and in Vernon, in addition to being an orchardist in Coldstream.
Art and Pearl have five surviving children: Beverly (Al) Johnson of Nanaimo, Melvin (Bev) of Grand Forks, Eric (Carol) of Sicamous, Ross (Beckie) of Terrace, and Dan of Coldstream. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Friends are invited to join the family at a brief celebration in Stenquist Park on Paisley Drive in Coldstream at 1:00 P. M. on Friday, May 25, followed by a Tea gathering in the Coldstream Women’s Institute Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either Baerg-McMurtrie Cancer Clinic at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, or BC Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Arnold and to the nurses of 2 West and 3 East at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their care and compassion.
