In loving memory of Frank Joyce, who would not have wanted an obituary but was foolish enough to surround himself with loved ones who didn’t bother to listen to him. Frank - also known as Achmed, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Pseudo, and Old Fart - was a unique, extraordinary personality and a beautiful gift to anyone lucky enough to know him. He was a traveller, storyteller, wine lover, crossword aficionado, frustrating card-game partner and a witty conversationalist. He has been known to fly planes, build houses, hit golf balls into entirely new places and email pretending to be a cat. Frank was generous with his time and woodworking and handyman talents, helping out anyone who asked, and often those who didn’t. He was, simply put, a great man. Frank will be incredibly missed by his partner Ann, his daughter Janine, step-children, grandkids, and family and friends across Canada and in Australia. As Frank was entirely capable of solving the world’s problems whilst lounging beachside in a kaftan sipping rum and coke, we are all the worse off without him here, yet so much better having known and loved him. Frank, we’re pretty sure those Pearly Gates opened and let you in.
