Gladys Stella Koski (nee Cadden), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, partner and friend, was called home on November 24, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Gladys leaves behind her loving friend and partner of many years, William (Bill) Myers, a loving son, Duane Anderson, daughter in-law Beverley Anderson (nee Neufeld), grandson Clayton Anderson (his wife Keiko Anderson) granddaughter Stephanie Anderson (her husband Andreas Hirschkorn), great grandchildren Keila and Ken Anderson, along with a sister-in law, Eleanor Cadden, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband John, sisters: Edna, Florence (Sis) and Katherine (Katie), and her brothers: William (Bill) and Robert (Bob).
Gladys grew up in Mara BC and was a long-time resident of Lumby BC, during which time she made many long-term friends. Some of the fondest memories she had were the times she spent with her husband John, and their mutual friend Bill Myers, cruising the shores of Shuswap and Mara Lake on the houseboat the three of them built together. Other special memories for Gladys included spending time with her close family members at her sister Katie's cabin on the Shuswap River in Mara, where her houseboat was moored for many years.
Gladys was very proud of her family and they were of utmost importance to her. She always enjoyed the time she spent with her son, Duane, his wife Beverley, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She particularly cherished Christmas, Thanksgiving, and any and all of the days in between spent with family and friends. When she couldn't see her family as regularly as she wished, she would call them on the phone to check in and ensure everyone was home, healthy, and safe.
The family would like to thank her beloved partner and friend, William (Bill) Myers (our dearest "Uncle Bill") for the loving care and tender hands that he so willingly provided to Gladys in recent months as her health began to fail her. The family would also like to thank the caring nurses and staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital who cared for Gladys with compassion, and never let her Irish temper and sometimes stubborn disposition get the best of them.
Gladys requested that no formal service be held.
Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, partner and friend. She will be lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
