It is with deep sorry we announce the passing of Gorda Mary on July 2, 2012. She is survived by her loving sons, Roger (Lori) and Richard (Trudy). Nannie will be lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Roderick, Ryan (Lisa), Sarah (Derek), Rachel, and Benjamin (Jessica) and six great-grandchildren, Devon, Riley, Ashlyn, Lauren, Shaun and Logan as well as extended family members, including Jane and Louise.

Gorda was born in Stratford, Ontario, in 1922. As an only child, she was deeply loved by her parents Gertrude and Gordon Thistle. Gorda moved to British Columbia in 1972 to be with her sons. She was known to many as ‘Nannie’ and was a dedicated grandmother, whose love and attention made each of us feel special and valued. Her endless patience and sweet nature was a gift her family will never forget. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Noric House, who provided such a loving and nurturing environment for Nannie over the last many years. Nannie will be forever in our hearts. We love you!

Funeral Service will be held at the Vernon Funeral Home on Saturday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m.
