Helene Siemens

Helene Siemens (nee Epp) on August 29th, 2011 in

Victoria BC. Helene was born on July 27, 1913

in Chortitza, Russia. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Lorne

(Karen), her daughter Valerie and son Brock (Patti). She

will be missed dearly by her grandchildren Kathie, Scott,

Lori, Audrey, Tracy, Jeremy, as well as her numerous

great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren,

nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Larry, in 1986, her

daughter Laura (Ken) Davis in 1996 and granddaughter

Hollye in 2011.

Helene arrived in Canada in 1923 with her father, sister

and brother. They settled in Hague, Saskatchewan. On

July 14, 1935 she married Larry Siemens and moved to

BC, living in the Fraser Valley, Vancouver and Quesnel.

In 1955 they moved to California. After eight years they

returned to Canada to reside in Vernon BC, where they

made many friends and Larry had a successful career

in real estate.

After the passing of her husband in 1986, she moved

to Victoria and spent the last 15 years living with her

daughter Valerie.

Helene loved her family, loved to cook and loved to

“visit”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Helene’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on

Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Pleasant Valley Funeral

Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon, BC.

In lieu of fl owers donations may be made to the Canadian

Red Cross Society or the BC Cancer Society.
