We regret to announce the passing of Isabella (Millie) Sligo Milligan on March 19, 2014, in her 86th year. Left to mourn her passing are her two sisters, Ann and (Hugh) Lyon and Helen and (Ronald) Nivan, both of Scotland. She is predeceased by her daughter Paddy Jo who died at age 13.
Millie was born on July 10, 1927 in Falkirk, Scotland. She trained as a Registered Nurse
Midwife in Glasgow. She immigrated to Canada at age 24 and married Ian Milligan and became a farmer, mother and R. N. She worked at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for many years on the Maternal Child Unit and retired at age 62.
Millie loved to travel and travelled around the world and yearly visits to Scotland to see her two sisters and their families. She will be missed by her family and friends.
There will be no public service held. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home 250-542-0155.
