Guy Joseph Bertrand Landry

Born in St. Boniface MB on December 9, 1941 and raised in the francophone community of Maillardville in Coquitlam BC, Guy passed away peacefully on October 5, 2019 in Vernon BC at the age of 77. Loving husband to Susan Landry, devoted father to Marie and Danielle Landry (Kritee Ahmed) proud grandfather to Amaal Ahmed, friend and teacher to many. He was predeceased by his belated wife Barbara Landry, brother Marcel Landry, father Cleophas Landry and mother Laura Landry (nee Lemieux). Guy was an orchardist for 20 years in Lake Country and a member of the Okanagan North Growers Coop. As a professor at Brandon University, he taught economics for 35 years. An avid runner, skier, golfer and long-time member at Predator Ridge, Guy loved being active outdoors. He enjoyed target shooting as a member of the Oceola fish and game club and the Kelowna & District Fish and Game Club. His hole in one at Aspen Grove Golf Club on May 28, 1997 was a particular moment of pride. The family would like to thank the staff at Polson Special and the support of the Alzheimer’s Society. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Guy’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society. A celebration of life will be planned in the spring. Condolences, memories and stories may be shared through Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Please visit www.dignitymemorial.com

We only meet Guy and Sue this year, I'm glad we met. Guy has left a wonderful impression on my heart. He always had a smile and hello for me when I'd visit. Keep wearing your wonderful shirts!

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I’m thinking of you all at this time.
I have fond childhood memories of visiting your family in Brandon. I remember Guy as kind hearted and it seemed as though he and my dad Danny were cut from similar cloth. Dad always spoke very highly of Guy.
I wish you all peace and comfort in your memories, his love will forever carry on through you.
