The family moved to Edmonton and later joined the farming community in Topland Ab. At 16 Lloyd left Alberta to work in the Yukon Territory and two years later joined the Canadian Army. When he returned he and Florence married and shortly thereafter returned to the Yukon. He spent the next few years as camp foreman in Destruction Bay working with the Canadian military to build a 100 mile section of the Alaska Highway. They later moved to Alaska where they established a successful restaurant/garage/motel business on the Alaska Highway. The family moved to St Albert Ab in 1962 where Lloyd spent many years as the Service Manager at Edmonton Motors. Lloyd and Florence moved to Vernon B.C in 1986 where he enjoyed a variety of activities with family and friends. His family will remember how much he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, bowling, cross country skiing, reading, and watching the Blue Jays. He especially loved dancing with Florence. Their gracefulness and fluidity on the dance floor was a joy to watch and a pleasure that will be missed by the family. Lloyd was always a gentleman; a gentleman in all ways.
