

Margaret was born in Kelowna, British Columbia, to Nick and Mary (nee Novokshonoff) Reibin, and was raised in Grand Forks, where she developed a strong sense of community and a lifelong love of learning. She went on to attend the University of British Columbia, earning her teaching credentials and beginning a long and dedicated career in education.
A passionate and devoted primary school teacher, Margaret touched the lives of countless students throughout her career, teaching at Cherryville Elementary, Tenth Avenue Elementary in Cranbrook, John A. Hutton Elementary in Grand Forks, Whitevale Elementary in Lumby, and both West Vernon and Silver Star Elementary in Vernon. She was known for her patience, kindness, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds.
Beyond the classroom, Margaret had a deep appreciation for local history and co-authored several books preserving the stories and heritage of the region.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lawrna and Leanna (Matt Bomba), and her cherished grandson Brayden. She is also survived by her sister Lucy Plotnikoff, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence Myers; her parents, Nick and Mary Reibin; and her brother, John Reibin.
Margaret’s warmth, dedication, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with graveside service and tea to follow.
