Mary was born in Westville, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Albert “Bert” and Jennie (Watters) Wood. Mary worked several jobs, but she was best at cooking—just ask her family. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great-grandmother.
Mary will be dearly missed by her daughters, Rosanna Rorison (Whitehorse), Rosetta and Darrell Janzen (Vernon), and Lisa Rorison (Terrace); her son, David Rorison (Edmonton); and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews of Westville: Glenda and Frank “Mader” Dennis, Vint, and Gary Vint.
Mary was predeceased by her husbands, Walter Rorison and Ivan Harrison; her sisters Glendine Hodgson, Romaine (Art) Vint, Earla (Bert) Halliday, and Margaret Wood; and her brothers John “Bucky” Wood, Jesse Wood, Douglas “Mary” Wood, and Harry “Scoop” Wood.
Mary was very proud of having such a large family. She would often mention that she had thirteen siblings any time someone spoke about their own family. She was also proud of the fact that she raised four children on her own, always saying, “I had three daughters and one son.” Mary will be remembered as the loving, caring, hardworking woman that she was. Her face would light up a room when she smiled. Her hugs were everlasting, and her sayings were sometimes very comical, whether she meant them to be or not.
Now it is her turn to join the rest of her family and rest easy. She will be truly missed—always remembered, never forgotten.
