It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear son, friend, and colleague, Mateo. His time with us on this Earth has come to an end far too soon, and he is now on his journey home to the Creator.
Mateo had just completed a night shift on Friday, where - as always - he demonstrated his incredible work ethic, leadership, and the bright promise of a future filled with potential. He was on his way to be with his mother during another family emergency, a testament to the kind of person he was - always putting others first. Tragically, he never made it home.
Mateo was someone who showed up for others without hesitation. Now, it is our turn to show up for him and his family. His absence leaves a deep void in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing his spirit lives on, watching over us.
If you are able to support in any way, a donation fund has been set up in Mateo's memory. All contributions will go directly to his mother, Dyan Eide, to help ease the burdens of the difficult days ahead.
Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with the entire Eide family, Mateo's friends, and all of us who had the privilege of working alongside him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
He leaves behind his beloved mother Dyan, father Kristopher, step-father Rick, step sisters Wynter and Tamara, grandparents Rose and Jack Needley, Sharon, Delbert, Cole and Alexis as well as numerous friends and those who knew him.
Mateo's service will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on July 31, at 11am. 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon, BC V1T 4M4
