After a courageous two year battle with cancer Mike passed peacefully at home, surrounded with love. Throughout his illness Mike never had any days of complaint or self- pity. He filled his days with determination, humour, and love for his family and friends.
Mike worked in the Construction Industry, framing and building houses, many years with Ron’s Concrete Pumping, and then as Safety co-ordinator with Silver Rock Land Corp. He treasured his time at the family cabin at Mabel Lake, being with friends and family around the camp fire and fishing for “Walter.”
Mike’s infectious smile and twinkling eyes will be missed by us all, and we are truly blessed to have had such a loving person in our lives.
Mike is survived by his wife Karry, son Chris, daughter-in-law Carly, and his cherished grandchildren Sydney and Lucas
Brothers Paul (Pam), Jim (Pat), Bob (Kelly), Brian (Cheryl), John (Nancy) and sister Anne-Marie (John). Mother-in-law Thelma McKinley, brother-in-law, Barry (Anne) McKinley, 14 nieces, nephews and their families. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Bernice Bibby, brother David and father-in-law Art McKinley.
A memorial service for Mike will be held Saturday June 1st at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
We would like to thank Dr. Hardy, Dr. Blyth, Dr. Cunningham, Nurses Loren, Laurie, Judy, Wendy and all the staff at the Vernon Cancer Centre for your care, concern and guidance during Mike’s treatments. Also to the Community Care Nurses and Care Aides for the compassion and support you gave to allow Mike to end this journey at home.

Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
No longer in our live to share
But in our heart he is always there.
