Jalonen, 74, passed away
in Vernon on December 30,
2014. Mike is survived by his
wife, Ginger, his sons, Dennis
and Brian, his sisters Millie
and Bonnie and his brother Rick.
Mike was born in Sudbury, ON. In 1958, Mike
joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. Mike
transferred to the Royal Canadian Army Pay Corps
and rose to the rank of Master Warrant Officer
before being granted the Queen’s commission and
a promotion to the rank of Captain.
Following Mike’s 34 years of service, Mike and
Ginger retired to Vernon in 1992. Mike was an
active member of Legion Branch #25 and ANAF
Veterans Unit #5. He was also an enthusiastic
member of the Spallumcheen Golf and Country
Club.
A celebration of life was held at ANAF Unit #5 on
Saturday, January 3, 2015.
