Born to William and Maggie Titford in Shearstown, Newfoundland; Olga grew up with two older sisters, Mary and Laura and three younger sisters Katie, Margaret and Elva. Two brothers were born but did not survive.
Olga grew up in a Christian home and her faith has been her life and an anchor throughout her life until the end.
Olga left Newfoundland at 18 by boat to Canada. A major trip for a young lady, as Newfoundland was part of the British Government until 1949. That meant travel to Canada was to another country requiring immunizations and all the paperwork required for international travel.
She landed in Montreal and worked at the Frosst Drug Co. factory from 1945 until 1962. Her sister Katie joined her in Montreal for a while before leaving to live in Toronto.
In 1962, Olga headed to Vancouver and worked for Adams Drug Co. By 1972 she was working in housekeeping at St. Paul's Hospital until retiring 20 years later in 1992.
Three years later in 1995, she moved to Vernon to be near her sister Elva and husband Heinz. Elva was a devoted friend, sister, helper and caregiver to Olga throughout the years they had together in Vernon.
Olga enjoyed her retirement and years at Orchard Valley Retirement Home, being close to downtown Vernon and being able to walk everywhere well into her 90's.
She had a wonderful faith family and caring friends around her. Thank you to Orchard Valley for their many years of caring service and great staff. It was truly home to Olga and she wanted to be there until the end.
Olga is pre-deceased by her parents and all her siblings. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families;
Mary (Roy) Daniels, Dave (Joan) Reid, Margie McDermott, Jim (Lisa) McDermott, Agnes Burke, Sandra (Mardon) Fowlow, Joyce (Wayne) Lewis, Laura (Chris) Henessey, Debbie (Len) Penton, Rick (Karen) Clarke, William (Hoi) Clarke, and Sandy (Jocelyn) Clarke.
