René Joseph Giasson

René, at 62, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy as resonant as the voice he was known for. To know him was to experience a force of nature—fearless in his pursuits, selfless in his relationships, and unmatched in his talents. A man of extremes, René pursued his passions without compromise. This was never more evident than during his years as "Mr. Barrel Of Fun," where he brought the same charisma and soulful energy to children's entertainment as he did to any stage.

For forty years, he was a fixture of his hometown (Tecumseh, ON), surrounded by the childhood friends and family who were witness to his raw talent, athleticism, and adventurousness. Then, with characteristic boldness, he moved across the country (British Columbia), where his talent and spirit carved out a place in a new, welcoming community. There he took up the mantle as the "City Cowboy," karaoke host and music entertainer--a staple of the local crowd.
