She was born in Cadboro Bay near Victoria, BC on June 5, 1970. She received her education there before her hairdressing training in Victoria. Stephanie competed in many competitions and was talented enough to win most of them.
At the age of 23 she travelled to Europe, arriving in Corfu, Greece and travelling to the Russian border, Romania and Bulgaria,- riding camels in Egypt- Israel (which she loved) and then on to Britain. Staying with her Aunt, she worked in one of the top salons in greater London before returning home one year later.
While working at Rapunzels in Vernon she met her partner in life, Cory. Together, they bought into the family farm, where Stephanie grew fantastic gardens, especially her favorite dahlias.
They rescued eight dogs, which over 18 years together became their family. She always found a home for every living creature on the land. Birds, insects, beehives and marmots – and every plant that was misplaced she would transplant in her garden.
She leaves behind her partner Cory Fuhr (Winston, Abby, Porter and Delta), her mother Muriel Scott of Victoria, father Malcolm Scott of Kelowna, brother Mike (Jeanette), sister Elaine (Chuck), brother-in-law Gord, nieces Rebecca (Peter) and Andrea, mother-in-law Carol, sister-in-law Kerri, brother-in-law Rory, nieces Jill and Chelsea, nephew Shane, best friends Shelley and Dianna, and all her faithful clients/friends of many years.
Thank you to all the wonderful friends who visited, cooked, and supported us through Stephanie’s illness and to Cory who while she was at home never left her side and cared for her 24 hours a day. Thank you also to the caring staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date.
“Thanks Steph, for being my best friend for over eighteen years. Love Cory”
