Thomas Lyle HOSSIE

March 8, 1980July 19, 2019

Thomas Lyle Hossie, 39, of Kelowna, went peacefully to be with the Lord, on July 19th, 2019, while in the company of his beloved wife, after a brave battle with colon cancer.

Tom is survived by his wife Sarah, sons Kai & Kaelin, parents Lyle and Carol, siblings Jennifer and Isaac, and sister-in-law Annick, sister-in-law Amy and nephew Jax, father-in-law Rick, mother-in-law Teresa, and extended family. Tom was a devoted father, loving husband, and loyal friend to everyone.

Tom will always be remembered as a gentle, caring, and generous soul who treated everyone person like they were the most important person in the world. His sense of humour could light up any room, and he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He always went out of his way to help anyone in need, and never spoke a negative word about anyone.

Tom loved his job where he worked for Aecon as a skilled welder and faithful employee, where his fellow co-workers were like family. On Sundays he often played guitar at church, along side his wife Sarah, who lead worship on the piano, and sons Kai, on the lego shaker and Kaelin, on the kahone. Tom loved skiing, golf, and the BC Lions, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Tom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thank you to the people at North Okanagan Hospice Society for their loving care and support during his final days. A warm thank you is extended to Tom’s work family, Aecon for their generosity. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the families of Heritage Christian School, Lake Country Life Centre, Kelowna Christian Centre, and all our friends and family for their enduring support during this these many months.

A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held at Kelowna Christian Centre, on September 7th, 2019 at 1:00pm.

Tom was always such a pleasure to work with and a privilege to know. We often worked the overnight shift at the city of Kamloops and he was just always so positive about absolutely everything! His pure endless love for God and his family inspired us all at TCC and CGP and he had a real gift for bring smiles to everyone he encountered. Heartfelt condolences and prayers are with his beautiful loving wife and boys💐💐🙏💐💖

I got to know this amazing young man 15 years ago. Always a smile that lite up his whole face. Always a kind word. Over all a very gentle spirit. I also got the privilege to work along side of him at Valiant Recovery and watched as he truly cared for each person that he was in touch with. My heart is sad that he has been taken and yet my heart is happy because I know where he is now. Lots of love to his beautiful wife, Sarah and their boys. God has got you all in the palm of His hand. Love Mel

We have many wonderful memories of times spent with “ALL” the Hossie family in Logan Lake. Then years later Thomas & Sarah were part of my husband’s “Worship Team” at Kamloops Full Gospel. Sending sincere condolences to “ALL” the family. Trusting it helps in some small way to know that others care. May the Lord be your arm of strength at this difficult time. Sending “BIG” Hugs. ❌⭕️❤️🙏

Tom was my youth paster when i was young. When i was down he would help build me back up everytime. He really did make light of situations and made people smile. He was great at advice and in teaching about god and he had many other great qualities. One thing ive learned from tom Is never give up expecially on other people.

I remember Tom as a young child during worship service at Logan Lake Pentecostal Assembly. He was busy playing quietly during the service but whenever something came from the Lord or a specific comment from the pastor Tom was totally alert and would comment with an Amen or “that’s right pastor”.

He was such a sweet child . I remember being in awe that a child so young was so alive in the Lord.

Love and prayers to you all
