OBITUARY

Wynona Paula Campbell

June 19, 1951October 15, 2020

With great sadness we announce the passing of Wynona Campbell. Her family and friends wish to thank the Vernon Jubilee Hospital staff, Dr. Lindsay Pritchett and the community and caregivers of Abbeyfield House in Vernon for their gentle care of our sister and friend. All who knew Wynona respected her dedication to the natural world and her belief in conservation practices. There were many environmental concerns she championed, wildlife and domestic animal shelters that she supported. Wynona made a difference in the quality of lives of the many children she financially supported throughout her lifetime with organizations such as Feed the Children and the Christian Children’s Fund, and we all admired her belief that we all can make a difference. There will be a celebration of life for Wynona in the spring of 2021. Although she has passed, she will continue to inspire us all to live our dreams. Please visit Wynona’s obituary notice on pleasantvalleyfh.com for updates regarding the service. Funeral arrangements in care of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, Vernon, BC. 250-542-4333.

Wynona will be missed by many people. We are planning to have a celebration of her life in the spring of 2021. We have decided that June 19th, 2021 - a Saturday - is the tentative date for this. We will be watchful of what protocols will be in place at that time.

That being said, we are planning to host the event on our property on Nashwito Road between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is a rural property that we feel can accommodate social distancing requirements.

If you are interested in attending, please leave your contact info on this site, and I will get back to you.

sincerely

I am truly saddened to hear of Noni Campbells passing. I worked with Noni at the Armstrong Reforestation Center for many years, and knew her to be a lovely, loyal, hard working person. She had a love of nature, animals and people.

I remember her telling us of the bear that used to frequent her yard and eat the apples when they were ripe. She let us know that animals have to eat and that she would respect the space the bear was in and share the yard with it. When questioned I asked "wasn't she afraid" and her answer was that "No she and the bear had an understanding".

Rest in peace dear friend.

Noni loved Jamaica, and always wanted to return. I hope she is there now. You will be deeply missed my dear friend.
