My memory of Jimmy goes back to when I worked back in the kitchen in early 70's. (Holly was just a little girl then and Dori was a "General"!) When I was serving the line after the dance at Crystal Ball, not sure which was white meat and which was dark meat, but I really don't think anyone in the waiting line could tell either! I just gave them a piece of chicken...LOL! Jimmy was a good man and I'll never forget his laugh! Teresa Speelman-Graves-Brown - Columbus, Ohio

Jimmy had a huge influence on our life and our music, we grew up listening to him perform. So many people always refer to Jimmy as a great drummer (which he was) but to us he was first and foremost an entertainer. He was one of the true entertainers. Jimmy is someone we will never forget.

Jim was a great influence on many musicians and friends. He was a great encouragement and fine entertainer. Glad he tred this earth as long as he did as he shared God's joy for His creation. Can't forget the great days at the restaurant in early morning hours after a gig. RIP Jim

You have my deepest sympathy over your loss of your Dad. I have so many fond memories of your parent's restaruant. Everyone felt like it was just a family gathering. Your parents enjoyed entertaining and talking to everyone who came. I know your Dad enjoyed playing the drums with the band. He came from an era that enjoyed the music for dancing. I'm sorry to see it going away.

Condolences to the family. So many memories from the restaurant, Crystal Ball and the many gigs with Jimmy. A very good drummer. I don't know if Dorie's cookbook is still available but I think it is a treasure of memories related to that era. RIP Jimmy. Jim Wolfe
