John W Anderson

2021. Those that knew John, know he battled many health issues following surgery on

his Achilles when he was 40. Despite all his struggles, John would always say “every

day is a good day…just some of them are better than others.”

He was born December 30, 1965, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Alva “Andy” Anderson

and Fran Anderson. John grew up in Union City and was a 1984 graduate of

Mississinawa Valley.

John’s primary career was in the Shipping Department at Greenville Technology. After

29 years he was forced to retire due to permanent disability in May 2021 – he literally

worked until he was physically unable to go! He was also a Veteran of our great country

having served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 13 years (1983-96).

While living in Arcanum, John pursued his lifelong passion for sports by coaching

baseball, football, and basketball youth teams. He was also involved on the sidelines of

the Arcanum High School football program as a stats recorder for several years. He was

an avid Buckeyes, Reds, and Bengals fan.

John is survived by his children, Nick (Chelsea) Anderson of Columbus, OH, Jacob

“Jake” Anderson of Detroit, MI, and Jenna Anderson of Eaton, OH. 7 grandchildren:

Cienna Anderson, Caden Anderson, Harper Anderson, Branson Driggers, Weston

Driggers, John Driggers, and Elsie Anderson. Sister; Angie (Jeff) Minnich of Versailles,

OH, brother; Bob (Tammy) Anderson of Oxford, GA, brother; David (Anne Marie)

Anderson of St. Simons Island, GA. Many nieces and nephews in addition to numerous

cousins in Germany.

John loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He left a tremendous legacy of being

kind, caring, compassionate, and selfless. If you were lucky to have known him, you

likely witnessed that he lived out the definition of being selfless.

Due to COVID a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. The family will

do their best to announce to all who would like to attend.

Memorial contributions may be made to the “John Anderson Memorial Fund” and mailed to 1407 S. Windward Drive, St. Simons Island, GA 31522. Please note that contributions are not tax deductible. We plan to create a GoFundMe account for those that wish to contribute electronically.
