From across the miles, we send our heartfelt sympathy. Marilyn was a lovely woman and alot of fun to be around. We wish we could have met sooner and spent more time together. With love and remembrance, we share in your sorrow. With warm regards, Ken and Maria Ripley

Mrs Hoehne was my fourth grade teacher at St. Helen’s school in Dayton. It was definitely my favorite grade school year. She never raised her voice and we all just wanted to please her. She made us feel loved and we all loved her. Ann (Fisher) Shell

I just found this photo from Kerry's wedding shower 20 years ago. Such a reminder of our connection to Marilyn from high school days with Holy Family, college days at UGA, the weddings, and, of course, the babies! She was a beautiful and loving woman who always welcomed everyone at every event. Her faith and love of family was profound, and I take solace in knowing that she surely has attained her final reward. While my heart breaks for the family, I pray they find peace in the knowledge of just how special and beloved she is by all.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of Marilyn. She was my dad, Steve's, cousin. I always remembered her being a such a warm, kind person that always had a smile on her face. She was such a lovely person and full of grace. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones during this time. Rest in peace Marilyn.

We are so very sorry to hear of your loss. We wish we could be there. Although we were only able to all get together a few times, we enjoyed Marilyn's company. She was a very lovely person who will be deeply missed. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Ken & Maria Ripley

Here in Brazil, a popular proverb says that "There is just one mother in our lives". I had the joy of having two and, Mom, you made the difference in my life.

In addition to the excellent moments we had in family, you shared with me the most sacred part of you, your family.

I acquired experience, I had affection, education, besides you, I gained another father and two more beautiful and dear sisters, all because you accepted the challenge to be a wonderful mother of an unknown 18-year-old girl.

I am glad I had the opportunity to thank you, in life, for such a positive impact on my life. I am sure that, from now on, your life will be filled with all peace you deserve, and we will see each other again in the correct moment.

Love always,

Bebela

Marilyn was truly a beautiful person inside and out. I was happy to become her loving Aunt way back in 1957. Many happy memories since then. Love to all. Aunt Darline Hibner Findley.

Jim and family,
We are so sorry for your loss and know she is out of pain and in a better place. She was a wonderful person and we enjoyed visiting and our talks with you two at the lake. Prayers for you and the family during these difficult times. 🙏🙏

Marilyn & Cy were so kind to me & had an enormous impact on my life’s direction & journey. I worked for Cy in Ada, Oklahoma. Marilyn was a beautiful person who represented intelligence, grace, love of education, & true love of family. Her smile & presence lit up the room. Rest in Peace Marilyn. With Love & gratitude,

Marylin was a ray of sunshine every day at Bascomb! I enjoyed teaching with her! I know she touched everyone she ever met! She will be missed! God’s speed!

We are so sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. OurDeepest Sympathy to Jim and all of Marilyn’s family. Larry and Diane Prenger

Marilyn was beautiful inside & out. She was such a cheerleader for me as a small business owner. I have wonderful memories of her coming to my bookstore in Marietta, GA for various events . She was a true lover of books and her support meant the world to me. We also shared many laughs when we were getting our nails done or attending concerts with our gal pal, Marti at the Marietta Square. I'm so glad the universe let our paths cross, even if it was for a short time.

Marilyn was my “Georgia mom”. She was my mentor and friend. Because of Marilyn, I became a media specialist. She was my coworker at Bascomb Elementary and then she became my volunteer at Booth Middle School. I will miss her terribly. Prayers for all of her family and friends.

Marilyn was the first person to really welcome me to Bascomb Elementary school when I arrived in 2003. She invited me to a Wednesday morning prayer group before school started. We meet in that group for the three years I was at Bascomb. I got to know her ( and the other members of the prayer group) better than any other staff members. I credit the prayer group and Marilyn for making Bascomb one of my favorite teaching positions.

Jim, Bill, Rosie, Walt, and family,

We are so very sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. As I am writing this my mind is wondering back to all of the memories I have of her growing up in Ohio. She will be missed.

Love,Scott, Ann, and family

I worked with Marilyn at Basomb Elementary School. She taught me how a media specialist can inspire children to read. She introduced me to amazing authors who influenced my teaching for many years. She was a shining star in education. My condolences to her family. She will missed immeasurably.
