Agnes Evelyn Ellis (Hughes) passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023 after a 16 year journey with Alzheimer's, in her final hours she was surrounded by love with her daughter, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was 83.
Agnes was the middle of 7 children. She worked at Individual Drycleaner's before marrying her sweetheart, Johnnie at age 17. She had 4 children by 27.
She later worked in the Snack N Go at Eatons until Johnnie passed away when she was only 49. She took a typing course at Camosun and got a job at Coast Capital Savings where she worked for over 10 years and made many long time friends.
She loved Ti Chi, Line Dancing and went on a Line Dancing Alaskan Cruise, she also travelled to England, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Mexico.
Agnes was a gentle, caring person who loved everyone, but especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Johnnie and son Mike.
Agnes is survived by her children, Cindy (Mark), Glenn (Martina) and Dan (Kim), 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Memorial Saanich on January 21st at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
