Thea was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland and bravely moved to Calgary, where her oldest sister lived, when she was 19. She only planned to stay for one year but loved the vibrant young city. She also met George Pritchard, whom she married 66 years ago in Saskatoon where his family lived.
Thea and George settled in Victoria in 1970 and made it their home. Thea was busy in those years raising her family, but she was always present for school events, soccer games, or just supervising all the kids that came to swim at our pool. When time permitted, Thea loved to play tennis and golf. She was a member of Royal Colwood Golf Course for 34 years and earned 3 hole-in-one trophies!
As we reflect on Thea’s life, we believe that her family gave her the greatest joy. She was proud of her children and always welcomed time with them. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up and was so excited to meet her first great grandchild.
Left to mourn Thea’s passing are her husband George; children Ross (Sharon), Lorna (Barry), and Leslie (Callum); and her grandchildren Daryl (Selina, Cooper), Andrew (Jess), Samuel, Brayden, Matthew and Natalie. She also leaves her sister Maureen Watson in Calgary, sister-in-law Jeanne Hargreaves in Saskatoon, and many nieces and nephews.
