Auntie Anne was an auntie, great-auntie, and great-great auntie, to many nieces and nephews from BC to Alberta and even as far as France. She was also a Godmother, and a friend to many.
She was predeceased by her parents, Simon and Mary; brothers, Steve, Bill, Johnny and Metro; and sisters; Jenny, Helen and Katherine.
Anne’s passion for travel took her on many adventures. She loved cruise ships & road trips, animals great and small, sing-alongs to the golden oldies; seamlessly never missing a word or melody, with a soft spot for the country classics. She always looked forward to a walk, or lunch with friends, and a dish of sauerkraut was never refused.
Many a family get together, especially at Christmas, you would find her in the kitchen rolling cabbage rolls, perogies, or peeling the beets for Borscht.
Anne was fiercely independent, and still living in her Victoria apartment past her 100th Birthday. She was a ‘firecracker’ and ‘free spirit' and was often heard saying: “I can’t complain; I really can’t. Life has been good." One always left a visit with her hearing her renowned goodbye; “Thanks for coming. I will see you when I see you.”
Well Anne, “We will see you, when we see you." Rest Well.
The family would like to thank the many people who supported and cared for Anne in her later years, with a special thank you to Dr. F. Muller, for his kindness and care, of which Anne was extremely grateful.
A memorial reception for Anne will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 10:00 AM at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, British Columbia V8Y1B4.
