Doug's younger years were spent in Smith Cove and New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. In 1957, he joined the Air Force and trained as a Radar Technician. His last posting was in Toronto at Downsview Supply Depot. He left the service in 1980, and worked as a civilian for DND in quality assurance.
In 1988, he moved with his wife to Victoria BC, where he truly enjoyed his retirement, building computers, making wine, and woodworking.
He is predeceased by his parents, Mary (nee Gunn) and Arthur "Duke" Cossaboom, as well as his brother, Kendal.
He his survived and missed by his wife, Joan; their daughter, Susan; grandsons Michael, Christopher, and Mathew; and great grandchildren, Elle and Jesse.
A Celebration of Life for Doug will be held in Red Deer, AB in Summer 2026, to be determined.
