Arthur Vincent Mckenna

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Arthur Vincent McKenna. On November 27, 2014 he slipped away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones at home. Art was born on August 24, 1930 to Arthur Vincent and Catherine McKenna (Ne MacKillop) in Sidney, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years Thelma Teresa (Ne MacGillvray) in June of 2006. Also by all nine of his half sisters and one full sister, Pauline (and Jim) McRury, all of whom he loved dearly. He is survived by three very dear sisters, Kay Felic (and deceased husband Joe) Eileen (and Bill) McNeil and Carol (and Paul) Bourgeois and all their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also has endless cousins, nieces and nephews and their children all of whom he loved. He leaves behind his three children, daughters Joanne (and Bob) Gray, Tara McKenna, and son Brian Arthur McKenna and his wife Lynn and their family. His daughters and son and grandchildren Jason and Heather Gray, Brianna, Emily and Joy James and his great-grandson Jacob Arthur McKenna mourn the loss of the greatest Papa anyone could ever have. As well he was a true friend and confidant. There will always be a great void and longing until we meet again. Thank you Papa for that beautiful double rainbow you sent us on that beautiful sunny day when God took you away. We love you.
