Audrey was born in Nelson BC to Ada and Eugene Leveque. She spent her childhood and youth in numerous locations throughout the West Kootenays from New Denver to Lardeau, Elcho to Fernie with her big sister Marion. She married her high school sweetheart Jack Ringheim in Kaslo and after a few years in Nelson and Grand Forks, spent the majority of their 67-year marriage raising their four children on the BC coast. (Burnaby, Richmond, Ocean Falls, Chemainus, Lake Cowichan, and Victoria.
A genuine “people person,” Audrey enjoyed life to the fullest and never shied away from trying something new. She loved the great outdoors and was often found camping, fishing, or boating with her best friend Jack. Early exposure to the arts developed her love of music, theatre, dancing, and singing. Her sense of community got her involved in many clubs, charitable organizations, and community service activities. Audrey loved to travel, whether by air, sea, or land, and never passed up an opportunity to explore new horizons. What remained the most important to Audrey throughout her life was her relationships with both family and friends of which she had many.
Audrey passed away peacefully on Dec. 4th in Victoria. She is survived by her 4 children Donna Sibly, Ann Ringheim, Brenda O’Brien (Shaun), Bob Ringheim (Melody), her grandchildren Michelle Sibly (Sean Bendall), Kimberly McCay (Christian), Carla Bishop (Tyler) and Bryan Ringheim (Cora), as well as, 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law, Betty Atkinson. She is pre-deceased by her husband Jack Ringheim, her sister Marion Worthington, son-in-law Kym Sibly, and grandson Kyle O’Brien. As Audrey spent the final leg of this world’s journey at the Kiwanis Pavillion, her family would like to thank the amazing caregivers, staff, and medical team who so lovingly cared for her.
Due to covid, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate Audrey’s life.
