OBITUARY

Barbara Barb Matilda Miller Affleck

November 8, 1922May 28, 2012

On Monday, May 28, 2012, Barbara Affleck passed away peacefully in her home, the home that she lived in and raised her kids in, for nearly 40 years. To say that Barb was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend is an understatement for such an amazing, generous, selfless, strong woman. She was a mother to so many, and cared for everyone who crossed her threshold. Many of the neighbourhood kids called her and husband Allan "mom and dad", as they both took on the roll of carer, nurturer and advisor, for anyone in need, and did it so well. She was a fabulous role model, and will fondly be remembered by many for her happy spirit, patience, and love, not to mention her cinnamon buns!

The world has lost a bit of its spark and all that is good in the passing of Barbara. To fill the void, we need to follow her lead and be that little bit better to take up the slack.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that donations be made to the Cancer Society.

Your mom was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed. I have so many fond memories of her when I was young. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time, she will truly be missed by all.

Your Mom was such a wonderful kind woman. I have so many great memories of her but I think the twinkle in her eyes and that smile are my biggest.

I know my family in Calgary sends their thoughts, prayers and love. The Affleck / Lindberg connection goes back many a year.

My thoughts are with your family at this time. She was a wonderful, caring lady who will live on in all of you.
