With deep sadness, we announce that Barry passed away at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC on March 26, 2022 at the age of 71, six weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. He will be sorely missed by his wife Margaret Smith, sister Barb (Brian) Bashnick of Canmore Alberta, brother Brian (Twila) of Riverton Wyoming, members of the Ballard and Smith extended families, and dear friends. Born and raised in Regina to parents Doug and Gwen (née Reynolds), Barry graduated from U of S and worked as an auditor and accountant in Edmonton, Regina, Bonnyville and Calgary before retiring with Margaret to Victoria in 2010. At Barry’s request there will be no service. If you wish, please make a donation in his memory to a charity of your choice.
