Blanche Jessie Ponting was born in Millicent, Alberta in 1929, and was the youngest child of Sidney
and Ethel Ponting. She grew up on the family farm, and at the age of 12 they moved to Ladner, BC.
She met and married Gordon Smith in 1962. They settled in Victoria BC where they raised their family
and remained.
She will always be remembered for her loving and caring nature.
She is predeased by husband, of 49 years, Gordon; parents Sidney and Ethel; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
She is survived by son Paul (Marion), daughters Jo-Anne, Susan (Craig), and Vanessa (Chris), 12
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces,
nephews and friends.
