Chillis is survived by her sister Margaret MacRae, her sons Ken and Gordon and her grandchildren Jennifer (Caimen), Jessica (Paul), Jerod (Natalie) and Jake. She also leaves behind her beloved great granddaughter Saoirse. Predeceased by her husband William Dorby, son James Dorby and daughter in law Lynne Dorby (nee Cain).
Chillis, born in Gourock, Scotland, was the youngest in her family. She travelled to Canada as a young adult and worked as a phone operator at Edmonton City Hall. Several years later she met her future husband, William Dorby. They married in 1959 and spent over 18 years raising a family of three boys in Edmonton. In the late seventies the Dorby family moved to Vancouver Island. During this time Mom and Dad became avid world travelers. Chillis also joined the Oak Bay Lawn Bowling Club, making many good friendships along the way.
Chillis was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Our family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the care and compassion given to Mom (Chillis) by all the staff at the Kiwanis Pavilion. Also, thanks for all the assistance and memories from our extended family throughout the years.
We will love you forever and always.
