My name is Susie Gelmon. I called thunderbird plumbing today to schedule an apt and I asked for Cole W, of course, the young Cole. My understanding is that there were 2 Coles. My husband and I are homeowners in Gordon head and from the moment Cole came into the house we were blown away by his charisma, knowledge and overall amazing personality. I couldn’t believe how young he was because he knew so much and had such a gift with people. My dog, Ruby, loved him too. He came to 3-4 different apts over the last couple of years and I looked forward to seeing him. This morning I was told there had been a tragedy and I was shaken to my core. There’s no way this young talented sweet boy has lost his life. I was speechless on the phone. Had I known this weeks ago I would have gone to his funeral and I just want to tell his parents what an impact he made in my life and for sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. I’m truly very very sorry for your loss.

Dear Barb and family....we we're saddened to hear this sad news about Cole when visiting with Marie and Charlie on their recent visit to Ontario.  One cannot imagine how broken your hearts must be at such a sudden and unexpected passing of a dear son, Grandson and friend .  Please know  that you are all in our hearts and prayers as you face this very sad time in your lives.   May you find some kind of peace  and comfort  knowing that Cole is now in a place of love and  far away from the darkness we sometimes face on this earth. Dear Ben Laurel and family sending so much love to you all.  Laurel. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person I felt like I had through all the amazing beautiful stories you shared about him.  I will be sending loving prayers and thoughts to you all.

Laurel, Ben, Brodie, and Cassidy - I have struggled for days to write this, because there are truly no words that can convey the magnitude of this loss. Cole was truly one of those people who lit up every room. Even as a child at KOSC, his personality was larger than life, and though he always had a mischievous streak, there was never a mean-spirited bone in his body. While I sadly no longer had the pleasure of his company once his KOSC days were behind him, everything I've heard from those who knew him in recent years indicates that he had grown into a truly wonderful young man, which doesn't surprise me in the least. My heart goes out to all of you in this time of unimaginable grief, and I hope that you can find at least some measure of comfort in knowing that Cole will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all of us at KOSC.

My wife and I only recently met Cole as he responded to a plumbing emergency at our home. Within moments we quickly realized that our ‘new Plumber’ was something special. The room in which we were working quickly filled up with Cole’s enthusiasm and energy.  While he expertly tackled the problem at hand he simultaneously engaged us in spirited and warm conversation about his family, his new house, his girlfriend and…….the Cougar markings on the Cedar Trees on our property.  My wife and I were truly saddened when we learned of his tragic loss. He had so much to offer to all of us…..such a fine young man. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family and friends.

Cole was one of the finest examples of a human being that I could cite in conversation. It didn't matter how well he knew you, if you were lucky enough to have an encounter with him in any sense, he made sure you left it for the better. Cole was genuinely interested in everything you had to say, which is extremely rare. He was so thoughtful and helpful, always considering of your needs, regardless of who you were. His enthusiasm for life, people and work is rarely seen today...ESPECIALLY for someone as young as him. I had the pleasure of serving Cole for years at the counter, and there was NOBODY who would bring more positive energy to the environment when he came in, usually more than once a day. His loss will be felt by more than anyone I can think of. Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of meeting any of his family, but i would like to wish them strength in the days and years to come. I miss you already, Cole. We all do, and we always will.

It is with the greatest of sadness we wish to express our condolences to the Williams family on the loss of their son and brother Cole.  We remember Cole as a great kid who came and collected our mail when we were away.  When he worked at Thrifty’s in his high school years he was always so cheerful and helpful especially when he worked in the “Fish department”.  As a fine young man he took the time to talk to our grandson about dirt bikes.  Thank you Cole for giving us the honour of knowing you.
