He passed in the presence of His wife Daphne Carter, two children Blair Carter and Elektra Jordan at Victoria General Hospital. David was born in Woodstock Ontario, the beloved son of Lawrence Carter and Dorothy Carter (nee Jones) and doting older sisters Norma Nixon (nee Carter) and Lenore Luciw (nee Carter). He will lovingly be remembered by his Son in law Patrick Jordan and grandchildren T.Jordan, S.Jordan & P.Jordan and fondly thought of by his many nieces and nephews, brother and sister in laws and the many friends that his vibrant presence touched. Predeceased by his sister Lenore Luciw and survived by sister Norma Nixon.
David moved out west from Woodstock in his early 20's to follow his Woodstock clan friends and was ready for adventure and shenanigans. He quickly settled into life in Victoria,BC and had an odd assortment of jobs until he landed a position at Babco Paint. Here he met the light of his life Daphne and after a very quick whirlwind courtship they became engaged and married in March '67. They search for the perfect location to set up a family property that could satisfy Daphne's equine hobbies and Dave's need to putter and finally settled in the Happy Valley area. David and Daphne lived in a small barn on property while they built their dream home and along the way came a bouncing baby boy, Blair. Quite a few years passed before their family was complete with Elektra. David and Daphne surrounded themselves with friends that felt like family and had a very open and welcoming home to all. Fast forward to 2018, Dave and Daphne have raised a family in their happy home and moved forward in their lives. They decide to move to the highlands to join a quiet community and live a loving and content life. David had health problems in the past 10 years but lived his life joyfully with his wife Daphne and the many friends and family that joined him on his life's journey until his untimely passing.
David's particular way of telling a joke or story will always be remembered along with his incredibly kind heart and words of wisdom. He is dearly loved and missed.
Due to covid there will not be a service at the moment. In Lieu of flowers please consider a donation to BC Childrens' Hospital. A very dear and near to his heart foundation.
