I met Dave in 1975 and had many happy times with him skiing.  He convinced me to go on trips with the Pacific Ski Club where he introduced me to someone who became my partner (we are still together).  We always visited with Dave when we were in Victoria.  He was a true friend and is missed.

I was very sorry to learn of David's death. Our paths crossed at the Royal BC Museum where we both volunteered--sometimes at gold panning. I remember him telling me that the museum's gold was "catch and release". I guess that was just a small peek into his sense of humour. My condolences to the family.

I knew Dave for almost 40 years, from our days ski patrolling at Cypress Bowl in Vancouver, to moves for both of us to Victoria in the 90s.  Dave was with us on a number of cycling trips in the last few years: Cuba, Montreal to Quebec City and Berlin to Copenhagen.  He made friends on all of these trips, and was one of the people you could count on.  He will be missed.

It has been an absolute privilege knowing Dave from the BC Hydro Victoria Office who always went out of his way to express his interest and warmness. Please accept my deepest condolences for a true gentleman.

As fellow members of the Victoria Ski Club, Dave was a long-time friend with whom we enjoyed numerous ski trips and cycle outings.  We also miss him at our regular workout sessions at Saanich Pearkes Rec Centre.  Dave demonstrated an admirable commitment to his volunteer work with various organizations & events.   We miss this kind and good-hearted fellow with an insatiable and inquiring nature.

We remained good friends ever since.
I used to watch  Dave as he participated in running marathons. I still have pictures of his first marathon, looking like a little yellow duck ( it was raining)   
I was one of his many email contacts, loved the funny emails.  
Whenever we came over to the Victoria we always met up with Dave at which time  he always had a "story to tell".  He was a truly wonderful friend.

I met David at the Royal British Columbia Museum in the early  two thousands when we were working on the mining program, Wealth from the Ground.  He worked very hard on that program, learning about coal and gold mining and telling the school children about it.
I teased Dave about being one man of few docents at the Museum, the rest of us were women.  He good naturedly replied, No problem.  I like women. 
Like Dave, I have heart problems.  And he told me several details of his condition.  But biking he really enjoyed.  
In winter, he would come to the Museum in his wet yellow slickers and bicycle, and put them in their correct locations.  He was quite a sight, and probably was the only volunteer who cycled in bad weather.  Dave would get some coffee, then join the team and go up into the galleries.
When the traditional school programs stopped, David continued volunteering.  And he came every year to the Docent Christmas pot-luck luncheon, when we met and had a good chat.
I have enjoyed David's emails, and often forwarded them to several friends who also enjoyed them.
I will miss the posts, and seeing David's smiling face in the Festive season.

I met Dave many, many years ago at the Selkirk Rowing Club, then later the Gorge Rowing Club where he was an active member. Always willing to chat, or go for coffee, I am very sorry that Dave has gone.

David was a very special person. I knew him from my days of working in Vancouver with BC Hydro.  We also worked together in the BC Hydro Victoria office.  What a surprise to hear of his passing.  He will be sorely missed here.  I was on his mailing list for emails and I enjoyed everyone.  My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Have just learned of Dave's passing. A friend I will miss greatly. Dave and I worked together at BC Hydro for many years and still kept in touch.  My sincere condolences to his family.

I knew David for about 20 years through the Victoria Ski Club.  I also saw him at events where he was a volunteer. He was a very friendly nice guy. My condolences to his family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dave's passing.  He was a family friend I met as a kid and he was always someone I respected.  He will be missed.

Dave was always a good guy, who never had a bad thing to say.  You would always meet him at different places around town biking or volunteering.  He will be missed!

My heart is full of sorrow to hear of Daves passing. I worked with David at Hydro for many years and found him to be a wonderful person. The world has lost a truly wonderful person.

My sincere condolences. We shared a love a cycling and rowing. I met Dave through rowing, and he lived in my neighbourhood.  We ran into each other a lot and had great conversations.  He was a truly lovely man and I'm happy I had the opportunity to know him.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing.   Many great times skiing and biking.   You will be missed.

For many years Dave was our ski buddy at Whistler.  We had great times together and we even named a run after an incident where Dave broke his binding near Harvey's Harrow.  He had to ski out on one ski.  We called it "Broken Binding" and it was that for us ever after.  Dave was a great guy and a loyal friend.  He'll be missed.

Very saddened to learn of David's passing.
Dave was part of the heart unit family of patients who all of us were fond of.
He was a very big part of keeping everyone's spirits up.
He will be missed and thought of regularly.
