David was a kind and thoughtful colleague. He never hesitated to share his thoughts and experience on complex files and tricky situations of the human condition. He had a way about him, a presence, a quiet privacy. I liked him immensely. Every blessing to his family.

David was a colleague of mine for 11 years. We worked together from the start up of the Victoria PGT Regional Office until my retirement over 6 years ago. I will always remember David as a kind soul, who loved his daughter and enjoyed outdoor life. We shared many conversations about his solo overnight hikes in the wilderness. I do believe planning these trips brought joy to his life.

I have great respect for David’s work ethic and dedication, in a challenging career. David succeeded in providing exceptional service to his clients. I wish he could have had the retirement he deserved. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family during this very difficult time.

I worked with David for about 8 years at the PGT. I was as green as could be when I started and would often go to David for his expertise, and to discuss the most challenging situations. He was always helpful. I had the opportunity to do presentations in the community with David from time to time and I marveled at David’s public speaking abilities and the respect he garnered from his audience.

David’s love for for Isabelle was very obvious. I remember him telling me about building her bicycle. He had ordered the parts from Europe and wanted to make sure she had something special. He was so excited! Anytime Isabelle came to the office David’s pride was palpable and it was great to see him light up.

David died much too young and will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with David for just over 3 years in the same role as he in the Victoria office. He was so experienced at his job and was a great resource and mentor to me as I was starting out in the role. We often consulted files with each other and I enjoyed his dry sense of humour. Even though David was not as content with the work in the last few years at the PGT, he never failed to work hard on behalf of others and made a real difference in so many peoples lives - both clients and colleagues. I have missed my office neighbour since his retirement and I offer my thoughts and wishes to his family for a gentle, meaningful experience of their bereavement.
