I while always remember playing dolls with her, walking around the house and hearing laughter and happy voices from every room, cheers from the living room when a hockey team scored a goal, and her being so happy to have the family together. She always put other people ( especially her family) first. I miss her very much. She was an amazing woman and a wonderful great grandma. Love you gran.

Mother to the World!  Mrs K.
She had no guile, loved everyone. It’s rare in a person.
Not shy in being blunt, and truthful, loaded with common sense truths.
She straightened me out on more than one occasion, using common sense psychology.
She was surrounded with teenage delinquents for years, let us play our loud rock music in the basement, and all of that.  LOL
I was pretty much an orphan, so Mrs Hume..(Gracie) and Mrs K (Doris). We’re pretty much Mother figures to me.   
I was broken when She left us.  It was huge to me.
I have said it before, that those that were close to Her, are better people today, because of Her. A teacher, a spiritual leader, patient, and wouldn’t put up with any stupid shit. 
Angry when appropriate, and always forgiving. 
My memories are vivid, and full of LOVE. I can’t stand the fact that She has passed. 
Never...ever...did She present Herself , other than with class, and old school ethics. 
Ethics, we could all..use as an example, to be better people.
I love you Doris, and I will still call you on May 1st.   IF you answer, and you will.... I will walk your garden with you. 
I admit I am in denial...but I am OK with that. 
Rest in bliss...you deserve all of the perks your faith offers.

Our condolences on the loss of Doris. She was  truly an inspirational woman and a great neighbour. I remember when she had come home from the hospital after a hip injury and she had a walker. I saw her in the garden shortly after and she was using the walker as a prop to hold her gardening tools while she continued to work in the yard. She will be missed.

Bob, Tom and Ken,
on behalf of Pam and Ed, I would like to offer you and your families our deepest sympathies on the passing of your Mother.
Doris was a fabulous person who touched so many people with her unconditional kindness. I remember in the neighborhood growing up she was like the second mother to so many of us. One night Pam decided at the tender age of three that she was going to move in with the Kroegers as she was very displeased with her current arrangements . She packed her bag and left in the rain only to be welcomed with open arms by Doris.
Whether is was Christmas , a Boxing Day  gathering or a day trip to Island View the memories of Doris will be special. As kids we were all so fortunate to grow up in a much simpler time in a safe a happy place where people truly cared for one and other.
Doris was a devoted Mother, Wife and Friend. I will always remember her as the kind lady in the apron with that big smile.

Ken, Tom and Bob,
Our deepest sympathies for the passing of your mom.  I know we all lost touch as we grew up but I could tell from Ken's FB posts that you were all very close to her.  I have fond memories of her when we were growing up playing tag in everybody's back yard and I always though she was great because she let you have rats, and I couldn't.  I did talk to her a couple of years ago when I was visiting my folks.  She was outside, weeding the lawn and you could tell how proud she was telling me of her boys, their families, and how they turned out.  I just thought, wow she's in her 90's weeding the lawn.  She was a great woman.  

One day we'll all have to get together and do some reminiscing.
