

Dorothy was born in Kaslo, BC to parents Clarence and Gertrude Garrett in 1932. She was the fourth born out of 5 siblings.
When she completed her high school years she moved on to Nelson where she secured a job in Government. She worked for the forest service in Nelson and that is where she met the love of her life, Howie Phillips.
They married and eventually transferred to Victoria in search of a more temperate climate. She continued working tor government in various ministries but always in a financial capacity.
Dorothy excelled in her job and enjoyed it immensely serving 35 years as a government employee. In 1988 she received a Meritorious Award for her exemplary service.
She loved to travel through the United States and Canada and especially loved Hawaii.
She also loved go to McMorrans Beach House to go dancing.
She was also an avid golfer and became a member of Glen Meadows golf club.
In her spare time she crocheted and also did some knitting.
Dorothy was predeceased by her Father, Mother, sister Irene, Brothers Doug, Bill and Bud and grandson Michael.
She is survived by her Step-Daughter Shelley Robbins (John) , Granddaughter Kristy Farrell (Gord), Great Grandson Devon Farrell Great Granddaughters Karen and Megan and Great-great Grandsons Emmett and Wyatt.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no service at this time.
In lieu of flowers anyone wishing can make a donation in her name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of their choice.
